2025-2026 Decode Season

Picture
This is our robot, Rex, for the Decode season!
Challenge:
  • Shoot purple and gold artifacts into the goals to earn points.
Programming:
  • We approached programming through a mix of interactive and hands-on learning. Our mentors encourage us to think critically, explore how to implement solutions through programming. Through this process we continuously learn, iterate, and grow as coders.
Our coding process includes a lot of trials and errors; we started with the basics and gradually built our skills by writing and testing code ourselves. Using a combination of sensors and control algorithms, we enable the robot to sense and respond according to our design.
End Game:
  • Shoot a few rounds of balls into the goal and then park.
Building:
  • Our design goals focused on fast intake and smooth ball transfer, consistent shooting, and auto-aiming abilities to minimize cycle time. We started off focusing on ball rotation and forming patterns, but after calculations and experimentation, we decided to focus on straight transfer and prioritize cycle time.
Performance in the Competition:
  • Shelby Qualifier
    • 1st Place Control Award
  • Winston-Salem Qualifier
    • 1st Place Think Award
    • Winning Alliance
    • ADVANCED TO STATES!
