One of the biggest challenges the teams at Salem Academy have faced is finding consistent mentoring. Mounts Robotics Center (MRC) has been fundamental in shifting this for us over the past four years. MRC connects students with real experts in STEM careers and provides invaluable experiences and opportunities to learn from leaders in the field. MRC also fields a FRC team (Girls on Fire) that has provided collaboration, brainstorming, troubleshooting, and moral support throughout the season. We look forward to more opportunities to work together with this organization as the years go on and more fully utilize the resources they can provide.
In addition to mentoring and collaboration, MRC has also helped our team financially by helping us get a full field to practice for the past four seasons. We are very thankful for all they have done for us.
Recently, MRC has partnered with Kaleideum to increase their impact even more. They are working on a permanent space for robotics teams across the area to collaborate and learn.
